BOOK REVIEW-IT HAPPENED ONE AUTUMN-LISA KLEYPAS

I am now a HUGE Lisa Kleypas fan! After reading this terrific HR (to me, it had everything it was supposed to), I am currently on a buy a Lisa book brigade-say that three times fast=LOL.

I even took notes of what I liked-so I can write good reviews.
To me a good HR should have:Setting-I believe that a good, descriptive setting sets the whole tone. In this read-she does wonderful! We have all kinds of gardens and walls, and it is so well described you can picture it in your mind.
Of course characters with personality really helps a HR,who wants a blah dull boring hero/heroine? Lillian is such a lively character that you can't help but like her. I liked Marcus for his ability to be strong when he needed to be and weak when he was supposed to be!! Love it. Of course, we have to have good looking guys.(Snob that I am).
A bit of humor-especially when you're not even expecting it (library scene), definitely adds to the whole experience.
And with this read a little danger thrown in, which I really didn't know what was going to happen-so all these things add up to a perfect HR for me.
What did I like best about this book? I have to say Lillian. She was just so well written that you feel like she's a person you know.
I also did a review on Goodreads. I am now rating this 4 cans of Pepsi!!

  1. This sounds like a great book! If you like HR with nicely described settings and great characters, have you read Genevieve Graham? She's amazing!
